PIZZA AND PARENTING

A new free course to help you build community in your parish

You can’t do it alone.

Marriage and parenting is hard work, and many couples feel stressed and isolated by the challenge. Wouldn't it be great to have a simple way to invite and connect these couples with others in the same boat, to build support and community? We have a plan on just how to do that.

This past year we recorded an amazing video series with our partner, Shalom Media, called Family: A Guide to Parenthood.  We are offering this 12-part series as a free online resource, but we want to do even more with it!

Community is Key

People don’t receive ongoing formation just by watching videos—they receive it through community and learning from and with other parents. This is why it is so important to get parents together to talk about things that really matter, sharing a meal together, and praying together—this is where real formation happens.

The more we do at the Messy Family Project, the more we recognize that one of the greatest needs in the Church is the formation of parents—because THEY are the future of the Church! We want to bring these videos and this small group initiative to parishes and families all over the world.

There are no other free Catholic parenting series available, and we are happy to be the first!

Here's how it works

  • Access the course materials and videos.
  • Invite other couples who are hungry for connection and parenting guidance.
  • Receive ongoing formation and support through your own Pizza and Parenting Group

Program Flexibility

If you’re doing all 12 courses: The course “A Guide to Parenting” gives our overall approach to parenting and covers the basics of marriage, parenting, and family culture. Each meeting consists of a 26 minute video and leading discussion questions.

If you choose to do a shorter course, you can simply do fewer sessions, or, if your families have certain needs, pick a topic they would all be interested in learning.

Recognizing that parents all may be at different seasons in life, we designed this course to be flexible. Depending on the needs of the group, the course may be 12 sessions, 8 sessions, or 4 sessions. You can choose to meet monthly, bi-weekly, or weekly. The choice is yours!
